ArtSquat is a Scottish Charity registered as a SCIO – SC048197 – which supports artists on low income develop and exhibit work in a range of local venues. We link up with galleries, cafes, community centres and businesses, who provide space for artists. We also work with charitable groups and established artists to put on exhibitions for community benefit.About
Our ‘Home’ season starts shortly with two unique exhibitions.
1. Opening on the evening of the 30th May ‘Home is where the Art is’ highlights youth homelessness through 40 postcard size pictures in St Mary’s Cathedral, Resurrection Chapel, Palmerston Place EH12 5AW with the Rock Trust Charity. 2. Opening on the evening of 7th June from 7 to 9pm at Coburg House Art Studios ‘Home’ explores homelessness, displacement and belonging through the work of three artists. The exhibition runs over the weekends of 8/9 and 15/16 June from 11am to 5pm. Artist dB explores Edinburgh’s architecture through his own experience of homelessness, Sam Cook looks at the search for an inner sanctuary and Ellie Clarke focuses on the womb as home.
